Building a Brand in Motion

Startups don’t wait for perfect design systems, they move and you learn to build alongside them.

BUNKY Protein Popcorn is a CPG startup that launched in August 2025, and from day one, the design process has been embedded directly into that growth. Not as a finishing touch, but as part of the foundation of a successful, growing company.

The Role

As the lead designer, my role is execution and translation. The founder brings me a vision and my job is to turn it into something tangible. That means working across:

Packaging dielines
Amazon storefront and product listings
Pitch decks and investor materials
Social content and brand expansion

All while refining and extending an identity that was already in motion.

Designing in Real Time

Unlike conceptual work, this wasn’t built in isolation. Every decision had constraints:

Retail requirements
Manufacturing limitations
E-commerce performance standards
Consumer expectations

The challenge wasn’t just making it look good, it had to work.

Growth & Reach

The brand has continued to expand across both digital and physical spaces:

Products sold out twice on Amazon
Social presence grown to 16K+ followers
Retail placement in multiple boutique grocers and markets

Each touchpoint required design that could adapt without losing consistency.

The Takeaway

BUNKY is design under pressure: real timelines, real constraints, and real outcomes. It’s where instinct gets tested and where design proves whether or not it actually works.
