The Tigers

Mendenhall Elementary needed more than a mascot. They needed a piece of their identity transformed into something students could connect to. The students at Mendenhall are navigating major life transitions:

New environments
New languages
New routines.

And yet, the school lacked a consistent visual identity and mascot. Something that students could rally around and something that felt like theirs. So, the goal was simple: make students feel safe, seen, and give them something to belong to.

The final mascot balances both strength and softness. It’s welcoming, but not childish. Strong, but not aggressive. Calm, but not passive. The expression was intentional- when students look at it, it doesn’t intimidate them, it comforts them.

The identity extended into real environments:

School apparel
Flags and signage
A mural designed to live inside the space students move through every day

The mural, in particular, reinforces something the school already does well: celebrating learning. Because at Mendenhall, students don’t just attend, they care.
